“Change begins with the belief that you can”

As an empathetic Counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist, I offer face-to-face sessions in Skipton, online video counselling, and “Walk and Talk” therapy in the local areas of Skipton, Ilkley, and Harrogate.

I aim to offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable talking openly about whatever is on your mind. My approach is all about helping you feel heard, understood, and supported as you work through life’s challenges at a pace that feels right for you.

My hope is to help you reconnect with a happier, calmer, and more fulfilled version of yourself. Together, we can look at new perspectives, build healthier ways of thinking, and create positive change that supports your wellbeing and personal growth.

Combination of Counselling & Hypnotherapy.

I am passionate about helping people find clarity, confidence, and balance in their lives. Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, leaving us feeling stuck, anxious, uncertain, or disconnected from ourselves.

I believe that every person has the ability to grow, heal, and move forward when given the right support and understanding. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, unresolved trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, or simply feeling lost in life, therapy can help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences.

My approach combines counselling with cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy techniques to help challenge unhelpful patterns of thinking and encourage more positive, balanced ways of coping. Together, we can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, helping you build confidence, emotional resilience, and a stronger sense of self-worth.

I understand that reaching out for support can feel difficult, which is why I aim to create a therapeutic relationship built on empathy, trust, and authenticity. My role is not to judge or “fix” you, but to walk alongside you as you explore your experiences and discover your own strengths and potential for change.

Therapy is your space, your journey, and your time to focus on yourself.

About me

Through my life journey so far, I have discovered the power of resilience & the importance of maintaining a positive outlook, even when the path ahead feels uncertain.

When I get the opportunity I love to travel, catch up with friends, go on some wholesome walks, embracing the elements of living in the moment enjoying nature.

I do understand the modern stresses & strains that life often throws at us & how it can be hard to pull yourself up to get going again.

We are all unique, it helps if we have an understanding of our own strengths and weaknesses, together we can explore how your thoughts, feelings ,actions effect you on a daily basis. We can discover other ways of which you can think, feel and act. Your personal happiness and wellbeing is my main goal for you to move forward as life can sometimes feel uncertain, overwhelming, and emotionally draining; and it is not always easy to find the strength to keep moving forward. At times, we may lose confidence in ourselves, struggle with difficult emotions, or feel disconnected from who we truly are.

“Happiness is a mood and positivity is a mind-set”

“The only barrier is you, I will help guide you through the gateway to achieve happiness”

The following is a list of common presenting issues that I can help with…

Anxiety

Anxiety is a complex emotion that can range from mild uneasiness to intense fear or panic. It often arises from stress, uncertainty, or perceived threats—whether real or imagined.

Depression

Depression is more than just feeling "sad" or "down" for a few days. It's a persistent and overwhelming sense of sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness that can last for weeks, months, or even years. Depression affects many aspects of a person's life, including their ability to think clearly, enjoy daily activities, and maintain relationships. It can also affect physical health, energy levels, and the ability to function.

Self-esteem

Self-esteem is your perception of your value or worth. It involves how a person sees their strengths, weaknesses, and overall identity. An unhealthy self-esteem often leads to self-criticism, self-doubt, or a lack of belief. A healthy self-esteem means valuing yourself in a balanced and realistic way, acknowledging both stresses and areas for growth.

Separation/Divorce

Whether you're working to rebuild a relationship or navigating the challenges of separation, you may experience intense emotions that cause significant distress.

These situations can bring up a wide range of feelings, including anger, sadness, shame, guilt, confusion, and grief. In the counselling room, I provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore these emotions with compassion, understanding, and without judgment. My goal is to help you process your feelings, rebuild trust (if possible), and find a path toward healing and moving forward.

Trauma

Trauma is an emotional, psychological, and/or physical response to an event or series of events that overwhelms a person’s ability to cope. Those who experience trauma often feel invalidated or misunderstood.

As a counsellor, I provide a safe and supportive space to validate your feelings and experiences. The healing process begins by acknowledging that your emotional reactions are normal and understandable. Recognising this is the first step toward healing and regaining a sense of control.

Loneliness

Loneliness isn’t just about being alone—you may feel disconnected from yourself or others, even in a crowd. It often stems from a lack of meaningful social connections, support, or intimacy.

Loneliness can have a profound impact on mental and physical health, contributing to issues like depression and anxiety. In counselling, we can work together to explore these feelings, find ways to alleviate isolation, and build deeper, more fulfilling connections—with others and within yourself.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event or series of events. These may involve physical harm or the threat of harm to oneself or others, including experiences such as combat, natural disasters, accidents, abuse, or violence.

PTSD can have lasting effects, impacting emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being long after the trauma has passed. While it can be debilitating, effective therapeutic interventions can help individuals process their experiences, manage symptoms, and work toward healing.

Menopause

Menopause is a significant life transition that can bring a range of emotional, psychological, and physical challenges. Symptoms may include hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, sleep disturbances, vaginal dryness, and changes in libido.

Therapy offers valuable support during this time, helping you navigate emotional distress, manage symptoms, and embrace the changes that come with aging. Through psychoeducation, coping strategies, and a safe space for self-reflection, you can gain the tools to move through this transition with confidence and well-being.
